AB OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the correlation between the clinical status and
the borderline laboratory results. METHODS: 5800 sera were collected
between 24 june 92 and 24 december 93 from all patients who came to the
Projet SIDA laboratory. A clinical examination was completed for each
patient. The organon teknika was the Elisa that we used for that study.
Borderline results were defined as 20% of the cut off value above or
below that value. RESULTS: TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME CONCLUSION:
Patients with negative borderline results had symptoms of Aids as
patients with positive borderline. It's important to follow patients
with borderline results of Elisa for serological, immunological and
clinical evaluation and to consider all results negative borderline as
indeterminate and to repeat them three months after.
